"We have in the OSM a great monument dedicated to FRIENDSHIP - depicted in both the ceremonial enactment of various episodes in the story of David's relationship with his great friend Jonathan and subsequent rise to kingship and the great care we display for each other's welfare.  We put into practice those aspects of close friendship and concern for our brethren, which we are taught in Craft Masonry - but tend sometimes to be passed over in favour of ritual perfection and increased charity donations.  Ritual and Charity also form a very part in our Order of the Secret Monitor, but care for our members is our greatest concern"
